I remember C complaining that the Canaidan application was really long and irritating (compared to the French and Singapore Citizenship that we applied for Bibou), though I don't remember it taking up to 1 year (well, probably 'coz C was the one that dealt with the Canadian application!!). I think they did say 1 year, but it came quicker than that. Sigh, now we have to go through the whole darn process for Angel! Arrggh. YOu're right, despite all the French red tape etc, getting a passport was sooo much easier. Next was the Singapore citizenship, then Canadian. k

LOL Caroline - it's the same here in the States1 W...

LOL Caroline - it's the same here in the States1 We gave up trying to get my son his EU passport after finding the consulate office we would have to visit was only open from 8:00-10:00 in the morning (a 2 hour drive at that time of the morning)and then the process was absolutely byzantine - involving sending the documents back and forth across the Atlantic at least 3 times.

We'll wait until he's older or we want to go somewhere an American passport isn't a plus.

I have to admit that I'm slightly happy to know th...

I have to admit that I'm slightly happy to know that we don't have it *the worst* here, but I am sorry that you have to go through this to have found out.

In bocca al lupo on getting everything in order with all the various bureaucratic agencies.
