I just found your blog and this was the first place I went~~I was laughing at your perfect description of American Mom's dropping their kids off~~I have even seen pajamas. I am a US resident but at times am embarrassed at how casual & unkempt people have become. I would love to travel to France just to have the cultural contrast and see how the other half live~~the elegant way!!

I really miss the days of throwing on my 'old comfies' to run an errand.

Now every errand takes me at least an extra hour - as I want to make sure that I have the right outfit on, my hair is in place and I am suitably made up.

I wouldn't even dream of answering the door to the pizza delivery guy in track pants now either!

Was it American women who invented that ghastly look of well-dressed, stylish, professional -- teamed with sneakers! I first saw this in Boston in the late 80s and couldn't believe my eyes - so hideous. Is this still happening in the States?! Track pants and sneakers is the worst clothing look in the world. Except for track pants, sneakers, and fleece --seen in many parts of UK.
